ESO1: A LOGIC PUZZLE
Did you have a nice weekend? Did you do anything special?
The people in the following logic puzzle did. They had a paintballing weekend. Read the puzzle and try to solve it.
Some days ago you wrote a compositions about great inventions. Some of you wrote about simple things which have made our lives easier, but have you thought of using any of the objects you wrote about in a less conventional way?
Have a look at this video and give me your opinion. Can you think of other uses we could give to the inventions you chose?
Charlie Todd is the creator of Improv Everywhere, a group that creates absurd and joyful public scenes.
Bored by a temp job, and tired of waiting for someone to give him a stage, comedian Charlie Todd decided to make his own. So he walked into a bar and pretended to be musician Ben Folds. It went so well that it inspired him to create Improv Everywhere.
Todd has, produced, directed, performed, and documented the group’s work for over ten years. In that time they've run over 100 'missions,' some involving hundereds or thousands of 'agents,' each one creating a wonderful and irreproducible experience.
Charlie Todd causes bizarre, hilarious, and unexpected public scenes: Seventy synchronized dancers in storefront windows, "ghostbusters" running through the New York Public Library, and the annual no-pants subway ride.
Would you like to participate in any of these scenes? Leave a comment after watching this video.
Poor Mr. Johnson, dealing with Grover is always rather difficult.
Watch the video, answer the questions and send me your score. And of course have fun!
Mr Bean: The exam
Watch this video. I think it's hilarious! However, be careful when sitting your exams. If you try to cheat, you will be caught and that wil be the end of your term. So, study as much as you can and don't copy. And if you still think you can do it, just have a look.
One of the last tasks you handed in had to do with the biography of a famous sportsman or sportswoman. Who did you choose? Do they practise a sport you like? Do you have enough vocabulary to talk about this sport?
Be careful not to end up like some of our most famous footballers (Thank you David for sending this funny video to me).
This is a list of links to learn some basic vocabulary related to sports. Exercises 1-5 belong to http://www.learningchocolate.com/. Click the links and do the exercises you will find at the top of the page.
Do you practise any sports? To be really good at a sport you have to start at an early age. Maybe you don't know, but in your class you have almost professional athletes. I'm sure some of them began when they were really young, as the children in the videos.
Have you recognised any of your classmates?
Now, I would like you to choose a sportsman or sportswoman to write about. Look for information and tell me about him/her. You should hand it in by the end of next week.
Well now we are supposed to know a lot of things about the weather, but let's try once more.
Have a look at Groover reporting the weather and let me know if you like it or not. Post a comment at the end of the article.
I am always telling you how important it is to try to speak English properly and I have just found an excellent example which I hope will help you to understand me.
Do you know this girl? She's a contestant in a Bulgarian TV show called Music Idol. As you can imagine people participe in these kind of shows to become famous. Do you think she will?
Have a look at this and just tell me what you think!!
